As the debate concerning the penalty that was given to Ghana during the World Cup qualifier match with South Africa keeps going on, we have chanced upon a throwback video of how a South African referee denied Ghana qualification to the 2018 World Cup.
During the 2018 World Qualifiers, Ghana played Uganda with the match officiated by a South African referee with the name Daniel Bennett.

The match was also a decider and for Ghana to qualify, they had to defeat Uganda. During the dying embers of the game, this South African referee shocked the world by ruling a clean goal scored by Ghanaian defender, Daniel Amartey. According to the referee and his linesmen, the player was in an offside position, however, video pieces of evidence proved otherwise.
Immediately after the match, the Ghana Football Association protested to FIFA, however, it yielded no fruitful result.
Some may call it karma, as South Africans are protesting to FIFA demanding a replay with Ghana after an equally similar controversial decision, was made against them.
